Discrimination in Disguise!
The New economic policy of 90's, Capitalism and globalization & liberalisation has helped people to come out of poverty and somehow diluted the caste system in India. However unlike poverty, Caste is a peculiar thing. We can eradicate poverty by series of some socio-economic policies or through some economic refroms. But caste, as Ambedkar said, is not a wall of bricks or barbed wire. Caste is a Notion; it's a state of mind. That's why caste system didn't get much affected by new changes brought in by modernised era. This Parasitic Caste, in its own way altered itself to the new changes brought in by the globalization. The same old caste wine in new globalized bottle! For example, many might have heard or seen, one of the forms of untouchability called the two-tumbler system(இரட்டைக் குவளை முறை) in tea shops.
